Households account for 70% of Sydney's total water consumption. Almost 30% of water used in homes is still used outdoors (Sydney Water: 2007). Greywater reuse for garden irrigation therefore has huge potential to reduce our domestic water consumption, and in addition, allows householders to have healthy green gardens during times of water restrictions. |
